Bring a piece of unused household clothing to donate to a local entity
Impact data
In 2024, Spain generated nearly 19 kg of textile waste per person per year — around 60 garments — most of which ends up in landfill, with only 2.5 kg collected for reuse. Taking a garment to a collection point changes that fate: reusing clothing is estimated to avoid the equivalent of 25 kg of CO₂ per kilogram of clothing reused — and it also creates social inclusion employment through organisations like Moda re- or Humana.
How to overcome the challenge
Go through your wardrobe — Find clothes you haven’t worn in over a year that are still in good condition: garments, shoes, bags or accessories.
Take it to a collection point — Drop it in a used clothing container or at a Humana, Moda re-, Red Cross shop or your local recycling centre.
Make it a seasonal habit — Repeat every change of season: twice a year is enough to keep your wardrobe tidy and your impact in check.
